Basic State Requirements

For every state you must first meet these requirements:

1. Be at least 18 years of age
2. Possess a high school diploma or GED
3. Possess a current state-specific driver’s license

How to Become a Paramedic in Alabama:

1.  Enter an Alabama-approved training program.

2.  Register with the NREMT and pass the NREMT exam.

3.  Submit your EMS Personnel Application.

4. Pay any fees that are applicable to the documentation (i.e. application, licensure)
